💛🖤 THE ROAD TO 80 YEARS | MARYFIELD UNITED 1947–2027 💛🖤

Something very special is approaching…

In 2027, Maryfield United will celebrate our 80th anniversary of football, friendship, volunteers, players, coaches, families and community. ⚽️

To mark this incredible milestone, we are planning a special 80th Anniversary Celebration Event in 2027, bringing together generations of the Maryfield United former players, coaches, volunteers, supporters and sponsors.

Over the coming months, we’ll be opening the Maryfield archives and showcasing teams from throughout our history.

🏆 FIRST UP – OUR TWO SCOTTISH CUP-WINNING TEAMS! 🏆

What better place to start than with two teams that created history at Maryfield United.

🏆 1967 – SCOTTISH CUP WINNERS
🏆 1996 – SCOTTISH CUP WINNERS

📸 Do you recognise anyone in these photographs?

⚽ Did you play alongside them?
💛 Are you or a family member pictured?
📖 Do you have a story or memory from either team?

Tag them in the comments and share your memories with us.

And if you've got old Maryfield team photographs, newspaper cuttings or memorabilia hidden away, we'd love to see them – PLEASE TAG MARYFIELD UNITED.

1996 is still my proudest moment in football. Winning a Scottish cup was a massive achievement and did it with a brilliant bunch of boys. Still got the medal and a strip signed by some of the squad at home.

G kerr is that gordon kerr knew him from st mary.s along with his brother johnboth great footballers

Some squad Steve... great memories and lifelong friendships along the way.... 🖤💛🖤💛 "'Field4Life"

our HISTORY

how it started

Foundation and Early Years

Maryfield United Football Club was founded in 1947, born from the merger of two local teams: Maryfield Athletic and Maryfield Rovers. Notable players like Alfie Boyd played for the Rovers, North End, and Dundee FC.

• Founding Members (1947 – 1957): David Grant, T. McGuness, John Duffy

• Early Management Team: Ron Watson, Jim Duffy, Michael McInally, George Kerr

• Later Contributors: Tam Leahy, Tam Dempsey, Tom McCabe, Tam Flynn, Kenny Bain, J. Flight

our club

“As HONORARY President, I’m proud to see Maryfield United continue its mission to foster young talent.

From Under-4s to Under-19s, our goal is to help children learn, grow, and enjoy football in a safe and supportive environment. With great coaches, strong facilities, Maryfield United remains a beacon of community spirit and sporting excellence. great to see so many boys and girls playing football in the amber and black.

now with addition of our mens amateur team, where it all started we have the pathway for players to play for maryfield united for years to come. #field4life”
